Breakfast:

When eating at home, we generally have eggs, sausages and bread or instant noodles with milk, coffee or tea with milk

When eating out, we generally have congee, rice rolls (腸粉), rice with chicken leg and spareribs (鳳爪排骨飯), Chinese dim sum, stir-fry noodle/rice noodle, instant noodles, bread etc.

Lunch:

Varied, depends on personal preferences. Generally having at restuarants or fast food shop.

Dinner:

For weekdays, generally having homely food at home (Mothers are always the best cook in the world)

For weekends, some may have family gathering and have dinner at restuarants. Canton food is usually chosen for festivities.

Chinese breakfast, lunch and dinner...

I will assume the context for your question is that you will be on a tour of China and you wonder whether you will be required to eat scorpions on a stick for breakfast, lunch, and dinner... Don’t worry... scorpions really are only eaten as a snack.

First of all, most hotels used by Western tour groups offer both Chinese and Western dining options. So, if you are in Guilin and some of the relatively unique specialties (which I won’t mention here) just won’t go down, relax. You can eat Western food. I will not bother to describe Western breakfast, lunch and dinner options as you probably are well versed in those. Remember, these are being prepared by Chinese chefs. So, they may not resemble the food at Bilson’s or Rockpool or at any top restaurant in New York or Paris or Brussels. But, they will do if you don’t choose to partake of Chinese food.

Chinese food in China is authentic...is that a meaningless statement or what? Chinese food served at most Chinese restaurants in the US is geared towards Western palates.

For most adults, breakfast includes tea or coffee with both cream/milk and sugar and bread/buns, or Cantonese congee with fried dough or steamed rice flour crepe, stir fry noodle or instant noodle is also popular.

Lunch and dinner usually come with either rice with meat, fish and vegetables, or stir fried noodle and noodle in soup that come with meat also. One unique item that most Hong Kong people like to include in their dinner is simmered soup, they like to make big pot of clear soup with all kinds of meat, seafood, vegetables, herbs etc. slowly cooked for a few hours.
