I have heard that Hong Kong government is going to fund the Philippines military with a big fund of US$7 millions, in the name of typhoon relief aid, while the Philippines has tons of money that enable them to purchase 15 fighter jets that worth US$440 millions to fight against China.

What makes Hong Kong government think that Hong Kong needs to fund a hostile country with such large amount of money to create more threats against the national security of China, the motherland of every Chinese person all over the world ?

Thanks for your answers.

Hong Kong is a much smaller economy compared to Taiwan. Taiwan has coughed out 200,000 dollars... Hong Kong should not give more than 10,000. PERIOD.

Moreover... BETTER NOTHING !

Probably for the same reason why Japan funded China after the 2008 Sichuan earthquake, and offered to fund China large sums of money, even though they are going through the Diaoyu Islands dispute.

No, its giving aid for the typhoon thats just hit them. The question isn't really about it being a hostile country, no way it can defeat China in a full scale battle. Its more about you have a personal dislike to Philippines because of a land dispute and it has as much as a right to build its military to defend against China, just as much right for China to defend against other countries.

What the people of Hong Kong do with their money, is at the end of the day, up to them what they do with it - so as to paraphrase a quote by you "get over it". Its obvious by the amount given by such a little country that Hong Kong vs the mainland that Hong Kong people are more humane exempt the odd Beijing lap dog nationalist.

yes hong kong is a much smaller economy compared to china china has coughed out 100,000 dollars cash even taiwan beat it with 200,000 dollars.. the latest offer of tents and hardware is better.

i have no idea why china has donated so little it could be that its a failing state

i would had thought it would had been thankful after the 2008 earthquake which saw the philippines fund the chinese military with 450,000 dollars from the ca 200,000,000 dollars it got for its military relief aid

i guess china fears philippines as china has a long history of being conquered by small countires

You really don't have a clew as to how aid works. I should tell you nobody is funding military aid to the Philippines but you would not believe it. The Philippines are a poor country and they were hit by a massive blow, people around the world see the need and try to help the needy with aid, not military supplies. For a person who says they are religious you sure show no signs of knowing anything about Jesus and his days on this earth.

HK Gov is not going to give the $$ out to Philippines directly but it's set aside for charity organizations ie Red Cross, Salvation Army, No Border Medicine so forth to apply for.

Besides, that's HK taxpayers money, HK people like to help whoever out there that's in need, it's none of you corrupted commies' business. HK people will never lump in humanitarian aid together with unrelated issues eg military defence.

Philippines have all the right to purchase military weapons to defend the island nation against aggressors' attacks but that is another topic.

EDIT

Hong Kong Government sent HK$10+ million back in January in helping the Philippines with a storm. The taxpayers there have no problem at all with humanitarian aid, why should you?

It's at least better than helping the corrupted commies up north with all HK$$ stolen by CCP guys.

No, and I see no evidence of your allegations. Please post a link to such information, so that others might offer better answers.

Thank you.

Your expression of your proclaimed charitable Christian spirit is noticeably underwhelming.

The West along with other countries with a sense of moral obligations create charitable organizations such as Doctor's Without Borders and they send assistance. On the other hand, the CCP leadership has only created a "China without borders", and sends its invaders. The first thought in the mind of these greedy ba$tards is always, "If I help you, what will you give me as a profit in return for my kindness?" because their PRC society has been built upon a system of victims paying higher ups for ALL things that were ever once considered to be charity, and on higher ups making false promises to instill a desire in lower classes to engage in criminal acts "on behalf of The State" as the only solution to their unfortunate situation.
