.
This graph is created by Japanese under their analysis and prediction that by 2050, the GDP of China will be between double and 50 times higher than the top 22 countries with highest GDP in the ENTIRE world.

http://4ki4.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/2008/11/gdp-b1b9.html

The ranking, according to japanese prediction are as follows :

1) China
2) The USA ( only 57% of China's )
3) India ( close call to the USA )
4- ) Brazil, Mexico, Russia, Indonesia, Japan, UK, Germany .........less than 20% of China's )

Did this HORRIBLE chart which is created, analyzed and predicted by japanese, make the foreign regimes and their 5-center party scared thus keep criticizing China for , lets say ...... human right or underage Olympians ......etc ?

Can anyone who has a strong Geopolitical background answer this question ?

Hi Ms/Mr Doggie, Thank you very much for awarding me 10 points in response to your CCP spirit, I'm sure many admire some of the stuffs you write but doesnt mean people have to agree with your personal perception as to good or what not, especially under the broad topic of politics,

"I definitely think deeper than you. Look at HK, it used to be a peaceful city, but now, the politics start ruining the future of HK. At least, now you realize that I was born and raised in HK ;)

I like both the Mainland (the land, the culture and history) and Hong Kong, because I've lived a long time in this part of the world to see all the transformations from a backward to a developed place. I've also been living in many places, Hong Kong no doubt is the best place to work and to live among most other places, one of the reasons being the Government have done tremendous improvements since the handover in 1997 to make Hong Kong a even vibrant, competitive and fair city for all, majority of the improvements, frankly are being pressured by the Hong Kong people.

There's always give and take to everything, to some Hong Kong people, the political scene seems getting very noisy and disturbing, but this is exactly the benefits of "the more an issue is discussed the more compromises the society will come up with". If you look at all the issues being raised, 95% of them are infact beneficial for Hong Kong and its people's livelihood. Indeed, before 1997 everything just got go-ahead easily, so there's the Convention and Exhibition Centre built in 1988 in an already crowded small piece of reclaimed land that made any future expansions almost impossible, the many high rises that were built in the 90s in downtown area, Central, Causeway Bay, TST, Mongkok have similar problems that made pedestrians difficult to navigate. All such poor city plannings were largely due to the "yes-man" culture of the previous Legco and Exco before 1997, the Mainland is exactly undergoing similar culture, hence you have the overly expensive "Birds Nest" and "Water Cube" being left idled after the Games are over.

The poor and the needys in Hong Kong are now being given a lot more help and subsidies than before too, the "fruit money" has just increased by over 40% since 2 decades, you'd agree that these would not be done automatically by the Government had it not been results of all the "noises and disturbances". All Government departments are working much harder than before, there's now a 24 hour hotline to answer any questions Hong Kong people may have around the clock, Hong Kong's Airport in particular offers the best service of all the airports I visit, people can just leave any queries on their website and will sure get a reply within 24 hours. The list of Hong Kong's improvements go on and on, and all of those are due to the constant pressures and pounding by the people. The Mainland is exactly similar to Hong Kong's "yes-man" culture during the reign of the British colony.

I must agree though that some news media like the Apple Daily, The Orient Daily and even some stupid commentators of the Phoenix TV, ie Mr Chu Man Fei etc, are very irresponsible and naive in many of their idiotic criticisms towards Hong Kong and the Government, the most idiotic is that to praise small Singapore to step down on Hong Kong, everyone on earth knows that Singapore's human rights and propaganda are more severe and bluffing than the Mainland's, they could even invent a ridiculous GDP growth rate of 18% which no nation on earth takes seriously.

From your English you must have lived in or being exposed to the Western culture for a long time, you should aware the fact that human nature tends to remain lazy and greedy, government people no exception. If the citizens and taxpayers are being overly generous and quiet towards their government's performance, the sad endings of all previous Chinese dynasty would inevitably be repeated.

Your cocolog blog claims that their source is another report by Goldman Sachs. In 2001, the same Goldman Sachs had argued that Brazil, Russia, India, China would become the four most dominant economies by the year 2050.

Its just 10 years since that report of Goldman Sachs and this revised report shows that the USA is going to maintain the number two position in 2050? Where are Brazil, Russia and India? Why aren't they in second, third and fourth positions?

You don't understand the nature of economic "predictions". 40 and 50 years is a long long time, several control inputs might change and you might find that the Economists at Goldman Sachs eating their words.

Please stop arguing like a rickshaw puller over a single economic report.

Graphs like these are based on extrapolated plots and data only present at the moment.

You also forget to say that China has 1 to 50 times the population of the other 22 top countries.

So realistically a graph of GDP per capita would make more sense. It may have the biggest GDP in years to come but you can bet it will have to spend many times more than the others can just to be at the same standard of level of those countries per captia.

However growth has never been a straight line and then countries GDP per capita. And there are signs that Chinas growth is slowing down because they are hushing to fast ahead with with-forms as shown with the number of Chinese ghost towns being build and the budget loses China is making with high-speed train networks. How long can towns and cities be left empty not making money, because the average Chinese person can't afford a home their, before they need repairing.

Its not quantity of GDP that matters, it’s the quality of GDP that matters.

yes I do and that, too. I can remember things back to actually being three years old. I remember hanging my doll's laundry on a clothes line. My mom even took a picture. Amazing and the strange fact I still enjoy doing it only with my actual clothes as an adult.
