a bit of a dream, but I am seeking an alternative vacation in China. Looking for alternative cure for backache and other ailments. Currently under Reiki treatment, but want something straight from the masters (I know reiki is japanese, I'm looking for chinese cures). Plus I have seen awesome rustic places in China in films and on TV. Can you please indicate if such a vacation is available in China - nature exploration - away from the urban humdrum - with a bit of alternative healing and perhaps some learning? Found similar stuff in India, etc.
WHAT KIND OF BUDGET needed for abt a month-long get-away? I am traveling from a neighbour country.
Please give any relevant suggestions.
Regards.

check out the cctv web site. Its the main chinese tv "station"'s web site.

This has a lot of info (some good, some bs) on china and you should be able to search for a particular story (i.e. chinese medicine)- I remember there was a story about a famous chinese doctor (herbalist) not so long ago, so you may be able to find it.

Good luck

Not sure about the alternative therapy part of your question? but if it's nature you're after, look no furher than Jiu Zhai Gou in Sichuan.

I've been and it was amazing. Can't really remember what the costs were like? It wasn't outrageously expensive by any means. You have to pay a bit to get in - unless you sneak in very early in the morning :)

Lots of waterfalls, really amazing pools of water and Tibetan villages.

Worth a look.
