China has very rich history. Many thing are different in China, funny thing is they are less depend on U.S. while we more depend on them both goods and $ for debt.

Great Wall and other monument is something to worth see, china has many great cuisine, and one of cheapest place to get your medical need.

If you are looking for the long list there is not enough room here. First thing to me is the people. They are as good as any people you can meet in any part of the world. I would say all the things Mao missed( or others hid or took out of the country) would be a very good reason to got to China also. This would be good enough reason even if the people were not friendly like they are. But now you can think of how friendly these people are and the help you can get in all the places and things the people saved that are older than Europe. Add all of that to some of the natural sites you will see while traveling around and from one place to another and you will leave the country way before you are ready. The only drawback I see in going to China is they have a government that has let the environment go. They have let modern companies build some very cheap plants with total disregard for the pollution. The University of California released a report they have been doing on the "Brown Cloud" that comes from China. Their report says more than one million Chinese and other people die from Heart Disease and Chronic Respiratory Diseases directly related to this "Brown Cloud". Plus this pollution is speeding up the melting of ice on the mountains between China and India. The Government of China has been changing fast over the past 30 years. This would be the best hope for the people is this government changes very soon. As for going to China, the people who run the place are the only problem I would see. They do not bother the people who just come to spend money. But I have COPD so I limit my time in China to 30 days, then poof I am gone. When the US gives my wife a visa I will limit my time to one trip per year, now it is two trips per year.

Millions of people travel to China every year for business, education, and especially tourism. The Great Wall and Imperial Palace attract huge crowds daily. The Beijing Olympics in 2008 and Shanghai World Expo of 2010 have been great for boosting travel to China.
