Do Chinese yaks resemble that of the American cow? Also, like we in America aren't used to seeing grazing "Yaks" everyday but we are used to seeing Cows, are the Chinese not used to seeing grazing "Cows" everyday but are they used to seeing Yaks?

The Chinese do have cows as well, go to any food place in China and you will see 牛肉 (beef) on the menu.
Also the Chinese have been importing Australian cows to boost their dairy industry over the last year and also beef in the Chinese diet has sharply increase not to mention outlets let McDonalds popping up all over the place.
The odds are you have not visited the places where cows graze, most likely rural areas in inner Mongolia where the vast grassland pains are good for animal grazing. The odds are you have visit rural areas where they use yaks for both eating and for farm work.

Heh~well,i dont know if you Americans are used to seeing cows, but to be a 22 chinese,i havn't seen any yaks, most yaks are in Tabit or Sichuan province, not the same as the cows in America. And it's not cheap, too most chinese.
So i think it's totally different about them.
